Cape Leveque to Broome
Day 23 Saturday 19th May
Odometer 22665 Temp 31
Once again I was up early and caught the sunrise.
Mark cooked breakfast sausages, bacon and eggs.
This morning we decided to drive to the Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm a 20min drive from Cape Leveque. The road in was narrow. We decided to do a tour. Our tour guide was only learning so we weren't charged anything, usually $25pp. Mark bought me a beautiful pearl necklace.
We were back on the road by 1.30. We stopped briefly at the Beagle Bay turnoff and had lunch, very uninspiring bread rolls. We passed the camel towing the car approximately 15kms before the end of the dirt. There was a huge police presence and protesters on the corner of the road out to Willie Creek Pearl Farm. We arrived in Broome and our third B& B by 3.30. I sorted out our clothes and headed straight to the laundromat, $4 load and $1 for 15mins for the dryer. The laundromat closed at 5pm and our clothes weren't dry. The man who arrived to lock up was really nice and allowed me to stay and lock up when I had finished.
I was tired after a long day so we had dinner at McDonalds
Mileage 540kms
